In the United States especially, sports are a huge part of the culture.  Whether college or professional, people in this country love sports, and they also love talking about them.  As a result, the sports media field has exploded, and there are countless radio, TV, and Internet shows hosted by people who believe they have the best facts and opinions on what’s happening in the world of sports.  However, even with all of the people out there wanting to be heard, there are some power players in the industry whose opinions are considered gold.  These people not only earn a lot of money, but have also earned a lot of respect, and although some of them have never worn a uniform, it would be hard to imagine sports without them.  Here are the 20 most powerful names in sports media.

ESPN sportswriter, Brian Windhorst, is best-known for his coverage of LeBron James.  Since LeBron James is one of the most popular athletes in the entire world, Windhorst, has essentially been able to build a career on discussing LeBron’s game and what he may do next.
